Football Game Preview: Lake Placid Dragons vs. Ridge Community Bolts

The Lake Placid Dragons will head out to face off against the Ridge Community Bolts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Lake Placid nor Ridge Community posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Lake Placid's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Haines City on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 37-0 loss at the hands of the Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Hornets are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Ridge Community didn't have quite enough to beat Avon Park on Tuesday and fell 8-6. The Bolts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ridge Community's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lake Placid, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Lake Placid didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Ridge Community in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 13-7 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Bolts' Abegael Benoit, who picked up 65 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 50 yards. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Dragons still be able to contain Benoit? There's only one way to find out.
