Volleyball Recap: John F. Kennedy Catholic Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Varsity Opponent on Wednesday, John F. Kennedy Catholic came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Ursuline Fighting Irish on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Irish this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

John F. Kennedy Catholic took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-23.

Hannah Myers paced John F. Kennedy Catholic's offense, picking up 13 kills. Myers got some help from Gabrielle Consiglio and her 21 assists. Myers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Ursuline found their leader in sophomore Jess Hass, who had 19 digs and two assists. Another player making a difference was Cadence Horvath, who had 11 assists and two aces.

John F. Kennedy Catholic's defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. As for Ursuline, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5.

John F. Kennedy Catholic has already played their next contest (against Lake Center Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ursuline, they will head out to square off against Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
