Soccer Game Preview: Edison vs. Franklin

The Edison Vikings will square off against the Franklin Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Edison, who comes in off a win.

Edison is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past McNair 6-2 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, Franklin unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Tokay by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Yellowjackets came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Tigers are ranked 822nd).

Edison's victory bumped their record up to 4-7-2. As for Franklin, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3-1.

Edison beat Franklin by a goal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 2-1. Does Edison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Franklin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
