Basketball Recap: Phoenix Piles Up the Points Against Countryside Academy

While Phoenix didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 73-22 win over the Countryside Academy Cougar. That looming 73-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Phoenix and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Countryside Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-5-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Phoenix Falcons duke it out with the Howardsville Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Phoenix is facing Howardsville Christian at the right time seeing as Howardsville Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Countryside Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Michigan Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Michigan Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Countryside Academy likes a good challenge.
