Basketball Recap: Lejeune Comes Up Short

Lejeune lost against Swansboro back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Devilpups had to suffer through a 75-44 loss at the hands of the Pirates.

Swansboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor May, who went 11-for-16 to rack up 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Johnson, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 13 points and five steals.

Lejeune's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Swansboro, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lejeune will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Swansboro, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on White Oak at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
