Basketball Game Preview: Lake Mary Rams vs. Spruce Creek Hawks

The Lake Mary Rams will square off against the Spruce Creek Hawks on Thursday.

Lake Mary is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Central Florida Christian Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 47-38 to the Eagles.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Spruce Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 71-31 victory over Calvary Christian Academy. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Lions are ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spruce Creek has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Lake Mary, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.

Lake Mary didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Spruce Creek in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 42-37 win.
