Volleyball Recap: Galena's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Galena waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Chetopa Hornets by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on September 4th.

Rylie Myer was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had nine assists and eight aces. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high. Madison Boyes also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Galena was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. They are a perfect 6-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Galena's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Chetopa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9-1.

Coincidentally, Galena and Chetopa will both be playing Caney Valley the next time they take the court. The Hornets will head out to face the Bullpups at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
