Johnson came up big in Abilene's 6-4 loss
Abilene was sadly handed a loss on Thursday, but Hallie Johnson did her best to prevent it. Buhler had no answer to Johnson as she struck out ten batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk).
Even though Johnson couldn't lead Abilene over Buhler, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sadly, Johnson's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped Abilene's three-game streak of wins at home.
