Basketball Recap: The Grove School Comes Up Short

The Grove School played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Calvary Baptist Cougars, falling 72-37. The Ravens haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

The Grove School's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Travis Silvers, who posted 22 points and five rebounds, and Jackson Clemens, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

Calvary Baptist got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan Moussa out in front who made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points and six boards. Gavin Quizon was another key player, going 5 of 10 to rack up 12 points.

The Grove School's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Calvary Baptist, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

The Grove School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-36 defeat against Bethel Christian on the 5th. As for Calvary Baptist, they will head out on the road to take on Costa Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. Calvary Baptist has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
