Baseball Recap: Cornersville Takes a Loss

Cornersville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the Richland Raiders. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Cornersville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Courtemanche, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Courtemanche has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Colyn Schillig also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cornersville's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Richland, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Cornersville will square off against Cascade at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland has already played their next match (against Forrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
