Basketball Recap: Dunkirk Has No Trouble Against Frewsburg

Dunkirk won against Salamanca last Tuesday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Dunkirk Marauders took down the Frewsburg Bears 59-45. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Frewsburg's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kael Collver, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Collver has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Jaden Collver was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

Dunkirk pushed their record up to 8-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Frewsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Dunkirk will challenge Chautauqua Lake at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Dunkirk knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Chautauqua Lake likes a good challenge. Frewsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
