Gilbert Christian had won two straight home games and Caleb Ely did his part to make it three on Friday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 41-18 margin over the Seton Catholic Sentinels thanks in part to Ely, who threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. That rushing touchdown was his first of the season.

Kamari Stanbury was Ely's top target, picking up 116 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Stanbury showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 52 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Gilbert Christian's defense and their three sacks. Hyatt Lang was especially locked on to Seton Catholic's QB and sacked him twice.

RJ Fogerty and Coree Edwards certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Fogerty picked up 45 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Edwards rushed for 90 yards on only nine carries.

Gilbert Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Seton Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert Christian will host Winslow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Knights 11, the Bulldogs 14.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Seton Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Benjamin Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so the Sentinels' offense will have their work cut out for them.
