Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Northwestern's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

12 must be Northwestern's lucky number: they beat Ravenna with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Huskies beat the Ravens by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-4. Considering the Huskies have won 11 matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Alysa Troyan made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Troyan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Gabby Cuber was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Coralyn Hall was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Northwestern is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Ravenna, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-12.

Northwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ravenna, they will square off against West Branch at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
