Basketball Recap: Vina Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Covenant Christian on Saturday, Vina came back down to earth. The Red Devils lost 62-37 to the Fayette County Tigers on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 58-46 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Vina still got an impressive performance from Layla Hester, who posted 18 points and four steals. Hester is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 33 games she's played dating back to last season. Miranda King was another key player, putting up ten points.

Vina's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Fayette County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Vina will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Phillips at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Fayette County, they will venture away from home to challenge Wilson at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
