Basketball Recap: Babcock Comes Up Short

Babcock lost against LaBelle back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Babcock Trailblazers were dealt a 55-19 loss at the hands of the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls. The game marked the Trailblazers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Babcock lost, don't look at Jameson Habing. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Habing has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played.

Micah Corbitt had a dynamite game for LaBelle, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points. The dominant performance gave Corbitt a new career-high in points. Giovanni Beaver was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Babcock and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for LaBelle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Babcock has already played their next contest, a 45-34 defeat against Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy on the 25th. As for LaBelle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-65 win against Bonita Springs on the 23rd.
