Softball Preview: West Geauga Wolverines vs. Perry Pirates

West Geauga hasn't had much luck against Perry recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wolverines will challenge the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with West Geauga sitting on ten straight victories and Perry on five.

On Tuesday, West Geauga made easy work of Lutheran West and carried off a 24-3 win. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Gabby Donofrio made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. Morgan Winters spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Aubrey Santore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mercedes Snell, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

West Geauga's record is now 13-3. As for Perry, their record now sits at 15-1.
