Recap: Wiggins vs. Merino
Wiggins was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap this past Friday as they fell 48-42 to Merino.
Merino found their leader in underclassman sophomore Taysa Conger, who posted a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards along with five steals. Conger has been one of the Rams' best players in each of their past five games. Senior Hannah Pejsa-Stegner was another key contributor, picking up 16 points.
The loss dropped the Tigers' record to 9-10. The Rams' win brought them up to 11-8.
The Tigers will square off against Wray on Tuesday. As for Merino, Merino and Prairie will go head to head on Tuesday in their first playoff contest of the year. Prairie took a loss in their last game and are no doubt out to reverse Merino's good fortune.
