Volleyball Recap: Sanford Takes a Loss

Sanford extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Windham Eagles, falling 3-0. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Windham's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Windham was led to victory by Lauren Neal 15/46 and Zoi Candelmo 24/48. Neal 15/46 had 15 digs and two aces, while Candelmo 24/48 had six digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Neal 15/46 a new career-high.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sanford will welcome Deering at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Windham, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Westbrook at 6:00 p.m.
