Firth had lost three straight headed into Friday's contest, but Grant Vasquez didn't let it get to four. The Cougars blew past the Salmon Savages 36-6 on Friday for which the team can thank Vasquez, who rushed for 205 yards and three scores while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 82 receiving yards and one TD. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102.3 rushing yards per game.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Salmon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Firth will head out to take on North Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 32.3 points per game this season. As for Salmon, they will head out on the road to face off against West Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Savages' offense will have their work cut out for them.
