Basketball Recap: Attica Takes a Loss

Attica was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the North Vermillion Falcons, falling 73-36. The Red Ramblers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.

Several Red Ramblers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Greyson Skeels, who posted eight points. Ronnie Matthews was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

North Vermillion's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teagan Leonard, who went 9 for 12 en route to 22 points and three steals. Leonard's morning made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teegan Dowers, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.

Attica's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for North Vermillion, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Attica didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-50 defeat against Riverton Parke on the 17th. North Vermillion has also already played their next contest, a 73-60 victory against Schlarman on the 18th.
