Preview: Homedale Trojans vs. Weiser Wolverines
Homedale has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Weiser Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Homedale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
Homedale pushed their score all the way to 55, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fruitland.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tiana Sorenson, who scored 13 points along with two steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Asumendi, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Weiser has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell to Fruitland 51-46.
Homedale has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Weiser, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
Things could have been worse for Homedale, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-29 loss to Weiser in their previous meeting last Thursday. Can Homedale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
