Softball Recap: Palmer Trinity Gets the Win

Palmer Trinity won the last time they faced Lourdes Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Falcons came out on top against Lourdes Academy by a score of 6-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Emily 'Emmy' Cerda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gina Marie Pineda was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Rodriguez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Palmer Trinity's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Lourdes Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmer Trinity will host Mater Bay Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lourdes Academy, they will be playing at home against Ferguson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
