Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Onaga walked away with it. They blew past the Doniphan West Mustangs 8-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won 18 matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Willow Hochstedler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Addison DeChant, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.  Ember Conger was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
Onaga pushed their record up to 20-7 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Doniphan West, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record  this season.
 Onaga has already played their next game,  a  12-2  victory against Valley Heights on the 20th. Doniphan West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
