Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Swanton). They put the hurt on the Wauseon Indians with a sharp 21-9 win on Thursday. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Swanton got a massive performance out of Alexa Faber, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave Faber a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carli LaGrange, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Swanton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 5-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
With the victory, Swanton broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11. As for Wauseon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
