Recap: Ranger Bulldogs vs. Victory Baptist Academy Patriots

The Ranger Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Victory Baptist Academy on the road by a decisive 36-19 margin. Ranger lost against Victory Baptist Academy in their previous head to head two weeks ago, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 51-29 score last time.

Among those leading the charge was David Lamb, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Thomas, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.

Ranger's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.3 points per game. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ranger's road trip will continue as they head out to face De Leon at 8:00 p.m. on January 9th. De Leon is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Azle Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Azle Christian comes in on four and Victory Baptist Academy on five.
