Basketball Recap: Eldred Beats Liberty for Their Fourth Straight Win

Eldred came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 63-54 victory over the Liberty Indians. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 74-51 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eldred to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trai Kaufmann, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Eldred is 8-1 when Kaufmann posts eight or more boards, but 1-2 otherwise. James Deyermond was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.

Eldred is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Eldred will host Livingston Manor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Livingston Manor has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Liberty has already played their next game (against Monticello), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
