Softball Recap: Brevard Find Success

While Brevard's win against Chase wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Trojans 7-6 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by just one run.

Emma Bailey made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off 13 hits. Bailey was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brevard let Emma Anders and Claire Wilson run wild. Anders went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Wilson went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. That's the most hits Anders has posted since back in March. Leah Cabe was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Brevard is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Chase, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brevard beat the Trojans by a score of 8-2 on Thursday.
