Basketball Recap: Versailles Comes Up Short

Versailles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 94-43 loss at the hands of the Hallsville Indians. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Indians are ranked 43rd).

Versailles' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hallsville, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers challenge the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hallsville, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Father Tolton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Hallsville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matchups.
