Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Middle Creek couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Gray's Creek Bears on Saturday. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

While Middle Creek was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-20.

Landry Boese paced Middle Creek's offense, picking up 13 kills. Boese got some help from Leigh Finger and her 15 assists. Finger was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Taryn Sylvester, who had 14 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Middle Creek's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Gray's Creek, they pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home.

Middle Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gray's Creek, they will square off against J.H. Rose at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
