Baseball Recap: Sneads Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Sneads's offense. They lost 7-0 to the Blountstown Tigers on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Isaiah Perkins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Sneads' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Alex Gaines, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Sneads' defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Blountstown, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sneads will take on Wewahitchka at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sneads will need to watch out since Wewahitchka has now posted at least ten runs in their last nine matchups. As for Blountstown, they will challenge Aucilla Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
