Santa Ynez lost to Righetti back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Santa Ynez Pirates slipped by the Righetti Warriors 63-62. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Santa Ynez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lucas Ollenburger led the charge by going 11 for 19 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ikenna Ofiaeli, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards.

Santa Ynez's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Righetti, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10.

Santa Ynez and Righetti should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Santa Ynez will face off against Morro Bay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 581 places (532 vs. 1113). Santa Ynez is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Righetti (ranked 492nd) will meet Nipomo (ranked 1186th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
