Baseball Game Preview: Charleroi Cougars vs. Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles

The Charleroi Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Charleroi came up short against Jefferson-Morgan and fell 7-2.

Meanwhile, Keystone Oaks suffered their closest defeat since April 28, 2025 on Friday. They fell just short of Fort Cherry by a score of 15-13. On the bright side, the 13- run effort marked the Golden Eagles' highest-scoring game to date.

Keystone Oaks saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Kaminski, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. That double marked the first that Kaminski has hit this season. Nate Rohe was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Keystone Oaks' loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5. As for Charleroi, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Charleroi came out on top in a nail-biter against Keystone Oaks in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
