Baseball Game Preview: Patapsco Patriots vs. New Town

Patapsco hasn't had much luck against New Town recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Patriots will head out to challenge New Town at 4:00 p.m. Patapsco is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

Patapsco had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Woodlawn on Thursday. The Patriots' pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, New Town unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 8-3 to Mergenthaler Vo-Tech.

Patapsco's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for New Town, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Patapsco might still be hurting after the 18-5 defeat they got from New Town in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
