Four one-hand catches, one better than the next, highlight a remarkable watch list.

This edition of MaxPreps High School Football Plays of the Week features a bit of everything, with an emphasis on one-hand catches.

Five years ago, high school fans would have lost their minds watching some of these one-hand grabs. But the kids today practice them over and over and when there's a crowd or a ball is going out of bounds, one hand apparently is better than two.

Just ask Ohio State-bound Jaxon Smith-Njigba, a senior at Rockwall (Texas) who is one of four standout receivers to make circus catches this week. Smith-Njigba is rated the No. 9 senior receiver in the country and No. 7 recruit overall out of Texas, according to 247Sports.

Besides the catches, there are impressive stiff arms, a spectacular hurdle, a special teams' hit that sends a returner five yards sideways and a determined run that would impress Marshawn Lynch or Jerome Bettis.

Each week through the end of December, MaxPreps hosts Steve Montoya and Chris Stonebraker offer the must see highlights from the high school gridiron.
