Basketball Recap: Clay Comes Up Short

Clay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Middleburg Broncos. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Middleburg, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Coming up, Clay will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. As for Middleburg, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Orange Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
