Soccer Game Preview: West Bladen vs. Red Springs

The West Bladen Knights will challenge the Red Springs Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Bladen's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

West Bladen fell victim to South Brunswick and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 9-0 to the Cougars. While losing is never fun, West Bladen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 510th, while South Brunswick are ranked 195th).

Meanwhile, Red Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Midway two weeks ago and fell 3-2.

Jurielys Quinones and Monserrat Villagomez-Ruiz scored both of the Red Devils' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 37 goals.

Red Springs has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for West Bladen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15-3.

West Bladen beat Red Springs 3-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
