Soccer Recap: Geraldine Comes Up Short

Geraldine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Collinsville Panthers, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Panthers are ranked 42nd).

Geraldine's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Collinsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2-1.

Looking ahead, Geraldine will welcome Sylvania at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collinsville, they will venture away from home to challenge Cherokee County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Collinsville will be up against Cherokee County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.86 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
