Softball Recap: Speedway Takes a Loss

Lawrence North hit Speedway with a six-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sparkplugs lost 12-2 to the Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Sparkplugs in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Speedway saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayli Clampitt, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Speedway's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Lawrence North, their record now sits at 8-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Speedway will venture away from home to face off against Ben Davis at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lawrence North, they will head out to take on Western Boone at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Stars will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
