It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but City View ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Vernon Lions 12-11. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Austin Graham, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Austin Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Graham wasn't the only one working in the hit department: City View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
City View's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Vernon, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
City View will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
