Basketball Recap: Williamson Takes a Loss

Williamson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 60-30 defeat at the hands of the Wellsboro Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 67-36 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Williamson lost, don't look at Jack Nolan. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 16 on his way to 14 points. That was a full 46.7% of Williamson's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Williamson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wellsboro, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamson will head out to square off against Sayre at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wellsboro will take on North Penn-Mansfield in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Penn-Mansfield will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Wellsboro surely won't give up without a fight.
