Winterset hadn't done well against Carlisle recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since June 27, 2025.

Winterset is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Carlisle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.
