Basketball Game Preview: Quitman Bulldogs vs. Malakoff Tigers

The Quitman Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Malakoff Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Quitman will bounce into Friday's match after beating Edgewood, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Quitman blew past Edgewood 54-33 on Tuesday. Given Quitman's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Edgewood is ranked 837th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Malakoff waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Indians 55-16. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Malakoff's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points per game. As for Quitman, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
