Cheshire Academy strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Salisbury School Crimson Knights. For the Cats, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Crimson Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Tyler Stone looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cheshire Academy's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Pereira, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Pereira's first of the season.

Cheshire Academy's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Salisbury School, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Cheshire Academy has already played their next matchup, an 11-0 win against Hopkins on the 21st. As for Salisbury School, they will head out on the road to square off against Putnam Science Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
