Preview: Central Carolina Prep Defenders vs. Legacy Early College Lions
The Central Carolina Prep Defenders will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Legacy Early College Lions at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Central Carolina Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Central Carolina Prep came up short against Varsity Opponent and fell 62-49.
The losing side was boosted by CJ Miller, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Devondre Smith, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Legacy Early College entered their tilt with GREEN Upstate with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Legacy Early College took down GREEN Upstate 48-31 on Tuesday. Given Legacy Early College's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while GREEN Upstate is ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Carolina Prep dropped their record down to 15-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Legacy Early College, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
