Baseball Recap: Hot Springs Comes Up Short

Hot Springs suffered their closest defeat since March 29, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Socorro Warriors by a score of 8-6. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Carlos Sanchez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Gabrial Varela was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Hot Springs' loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Socorro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hot Springs will square off against Cobre at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Socorro, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Tularosa at 6:00 p.m. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
