The Milpitas Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Valley Christian Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for Milpitas after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Mateo.

Sophia Delgado was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two triples and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Jaye Hudson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Valley Christian and Santa Teresa meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Valley Christian walked away with an 8-5 victory over Santa Teresa.

The team relied heavily on Soledad Healy, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Makena Blauman, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Milpitas' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Valley Christian, their record is now 3-0.
