Carbondale won the last time they faced Goreville and things went their way on Monday too. The Terriers walked away with an 8-3 win over the Blackcats.

Sydney Tanner was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anniston Thompson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Carbondale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goreville only posted a batting average of .231.

Carbondale's record is now 9-12. As for Goreville, they moved to 12-17 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Carbondale will be playing at home against Mascoutah at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Goreville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
