Baseball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Marshall's offense. They came up short against the Texas Tigers on Tuesday, falling 9-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mavericks of the 6-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Marshall saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Marshall has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-2 record this season. As for Texas, they pushed their record up to 10-3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Marshall will square off against rival Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Texas is set to face off against their familiar foe Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
