Basketball Recap: Trayvon Mcgraw Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Kingston

Kingston typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Monroe-Woodbury proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 49-45 victory over the Kingston Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Crusaders: when they faced off against the Tigers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 53-42 defeat.

Monroe-Woodbury's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trayvon McGraw, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 16 points. Thanks to that strong game, McGraw now owns an excellent 48.6% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Theokas, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 14 points and six boards.

Monroe-Woodbury pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Kingston, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Monroe-Woodbury has already played their next contest, a 62-40 defeat against Green Tech on the 7th. Kingston will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pine Bush at 5:00 p.m. on February 18th.
