Softball Recap: Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers vs. Flint River Academy Wildcats
Central Fellowship Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Flint River Academy Wildcats with a sharp 12-5 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lancers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2022.
Avery Queen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Queen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Central Fellowship Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Alena Gibby, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and a double. Brianna Walker was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Central Fellowship Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've earned since back in August of 2023.
Flint River Academy is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Central Fellowship Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on John Milledge Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Flint River Academy, they will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Westwood at 4:00 p.m.
